How to Create, Switch, Rename and Delete Firefox Profile

Mozilla Firefox browser saves your personal information such as bookmarks, user preferences and passwords when you use it. If your computer uses multiple users, you can make Firefox multiple profiles to secure your browsing. Firefox profile manager allows users to create, switch, rename and delete profiles.

Create Firefox Profile

1. Input the Run text into the windows search box and select the Run from the search result.

2. In front of Open, type the “firefox.exe -p” and hit the Enter button.

3. Click the Create Profile button from the dialog box.

  • From the profile wizard page, clicks the Next > button.
  • Into the “Enter new profile name” box, type the new profile name for your Firefox browser and click the Finish button.

4. Recently created Firefox profile name will show on the profile list. Select the profile and click the Start Firefox button to open your Firefox browser with your new profile.

Switch Firefox Profile

1. Open the Firefox user profile dialog box following the upper 1 and 2 steps.

2. Select a profile from the list and click the Start Firefox button.

Your Firefox browser will open with your selected profile.

Rename Firefox Profile

1. Press Windows + R key from the keyboard to open the Run dialog box.

2. Type the “firefox.exe -p” text and press the OK button.

3. Select a Firefox profile from the profile list and click the Rename Profile button.

4. Firefox rename profile dialog box will open. Type the new profile name into the box and press the OK button.

Firefox will show a new profile on the profile list.

How to Delete a Firefox profile

1. Click the Start button, type the Run into the box, and hit Enter button.

2. Type the “firefox.exe -p” text into the box and press the OK button.

3. Select the profile you want to delete and press the Delete Profile button.

4. Delete profile dialog box will open. Press the Delete Files button to delete the Firefox profile.
